Nuclear Iran

Apparently Iran has made public that they are building a second nuclear enrichment facility which is hidden underground near the city of Qom and was previously secret until Iran decided to enlighten the world about its existence.  Before you worry though Iran has made clear that the site is being built in compliance with U.N. regulations.  Also, they insist that the purpose for their nuclear power plants is to produce electricity.  Certainly this is greener than coal so that is one benefit the American left can get behind?
If Iran is seeking to produce cheap and environmentally friendly electricity then why is at least one Iranian official publicly stating that:
"God willing this new plant will become operational soon and make the enemy blind," Mohammad Mohammadi Golpayegani was quoted as saying by the semi-official Fars news agency.
Israel is demanding the Western powers to take affirmative action  to counter the Iranian nuclear threat.  So what has been the response by the leaders of the West?  According to an article in the BBC the response was limp wristed at best:
On Friday, President Obama, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown demanded that Iran allow UN inspectors into the second site.
Let's assume the U.N. inspectors go into the second site and why shouldn't Iran allow this to happen because we know that the U.N. will do absolutely nothing to make the world safer or disarm a nuclear Iran.  The response of Britain and France is not surprising because these two countries are being ran by left wing governments.
