Afghanistan and the President without a Plan

We are now beginning to see this administration's reaction to the GROWING CRISIS in Afghanistan General McChrytal's request for more troops to avoid losing the war. Apparently the White House decided that it needs more time to think about the strategy in Afghanistan and has ordered Defense Secretary Gates to sit on General McChrystal's report.
... Gates will hang onto the request until the White House and Pentagon get to a "proper stage" in their assessment of the war in Afghanistan, Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said, explaining that it is premature for the request to be considered until the assessment is fully reviewed.
An array of powerful lawmakers from both parties, including the Democratic chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, want McChrystal to testify about the challenges confronting the U.S. and its allies in Afghanistan and his plan for beating back the resurgent Taliban.Let me get this straight Senators and Representatives from both political  parties are calling for a Congressional hearing to hear from General McChrystal himself about the deteoriating situation in Afghanistan?  In other words Congress wants to hear the message from the head military officer in Afghanistan sounds logical right?

"You hear it from the horse's mouth," said Rep. Ike Skelton, D-Mo., the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. "He is the general in charge."
Obviously, the White House cannot argue with this kind of bipartisan logic stated so clearly by a member of Mr. Obama's own political party. I mean after all Obama constantly talks about bipartisan initiatives and working together for a better America.

But the Pentagon is rebuffing those calls, amid the growing political tumult over the Obama administration's handling of the conflict.

Perhaps the White House is confused and upset that McChrystal is asking Obama to take his focus away from his awful unpopular health care reform at a time when he needs all his energy to give America a prescription we are dead set against.  Clearly, the White House has a strategy and a brilliant plan to extract us from this potential defeat and humiliation not to mention the potential harm to America posed by state sponsored terrorism if the Taliban regain control.  Oh wait this is the Obama White!  Lets see what Pentagon spokesperson Geoff Morrell had to say:
Morrell acknowledged that additional inputs and strategies are being discussed at the White Houe but he would not shed any light on what they are.
