Obama's fantasy veto

Apparently President Obama has threatened to veto parts of his health care bill after it came to light that the health care bill will not bend the cost curve down and in reality it will likely cause a minimum increase of $115 billion in government spending on healthcare. SUPRISE the health care reform bill will do nothing to decrease prices and will actually increase prices and government spending well paint me shocked and alarmed. Thankfully I now have free Obamacare so that I can seek psychiatric care for my PTSD resulting from my crushed hopes that our President was going to lower the cost of health insurance. This poses some very simple but perplexing questions: (1) how do you veto portions of a bill you already ratified by signature in full and (2) Why did Obama sign something before the final CBO score had been released? Now the issue is what can we do to recover this $115 billion in increased costs well we have an answer from President Obama who has instructed Congress to find $115 billion in spending cuts (not bloody likely) or tax increases(SUPRISE AKA SOAK THE RICH KILL THE ECONOMY) to offset the price tag hike. The truly ironic thing is that $115 billion dollars is approximately the figure the Congressional Budget Office stated would be saved by the health care reform bill and was an important figure in the attempt to keep the health care tab under a trillion dollars and garner critical votes. There you have it people no decrease in the cost of health care and increased taxes once again no hope harmful change.




Obama can veto the additional $115 billion in spending because the spending is discretionary and as such Congress has the ability to either appropriate or not appropriate the additional funds by voting yea or nay. What is the additional spending for?

The Congressional Budget Office said the added spending includes $10 billion to $20 billion in administrative costs to federal agencies carrying out the law, as well as $34 billion for community health centers and $39 billion for Indian health care.

The real question is would Obama really veto additional government entitlement spending and go against the wishes of liberal Congress?  Excuse my rampant skepticism and I will go on the record as saying that the chances of President Obama vetoing any part of his health care reform baby are zero and I have more faith in a professional sports team from Buffalo winning a super bowl ring.  Obama will not veto any portion of this bloated health care bill and even if he did show some fiscal restraint and kill a portion of this terrible bill it would be too little too late.  Taking $115 billion out of this trillion dollar monster would be like claiming victory over drug addiction because a junkie could refrain from using on tuesdays and thrusdays.  It will not matter in the end this healthcare bill is toxic and clipping the fingernails of the monster won't change a bad bill into a beauty queen.

These underdog tale has really put a lot of things into perspective for me and it made me realize that life is about living and not complaining about wants and desires.  I think it is awesome what these young men from Afghanistan have accomplished and all the hardship and disappointment in their personal lives that they have overcome to so proudly represent their war-torn country in the sport of Cricket.  I hope that Cricket can be a source of distraction and joy for a country that has seen so much senseless and brutal violence.

I am commenting on another blogger article from a blog called Israel Matzav and if I misquote this blogger or his blog then I deeply apologize.  To summarize my thoughts and feelings with the blog the joke told at this meeting or conference  is both offensive and anti-Semitic and that a senior advisor to our President made such a joke is unacceptable.  It is true that if we are to have honest and open dialogue about the Middle East Peace Process we must have intelligent, informed and unbiased debate representatives from this country intervening in the process.  I would actually submit that the peace process in the Middle East is an Israeli affair and not an American affair.  How Israel conducts itself is no concern of the Americans even though they are our friends and long-time allies at least in the sense of forcing either side to accept America's roadmap to peace.  To come back to the original topic the fact that an American aide is making Anti-Semitic jokes calls into question the Obama administration's motive in seeking Middle East Peace.  Israel has the absolute right to exist a free and democratic state and if Palestine renounces terrorists and terrorism it has the right to exist in peace.  Obama has done some really questionable things to Israel since becoming President which call into question whether he is anti-Israel and if he does not take serious action to distance himself from this anti-Semitic ex-General then he is pushing another wedge between US-Israeli relations.  I am writing this opinions as a Muslim so I sympathize with Palestine but that does not divorce me from reality and the fact that Israel is being attacked unfairly here by the terrorist regime Hamas and the incompetent Obama White House.

P.S. I put this an afterthought this joke could also be construed to a lesser extent as harming Islam by reinforcing the stereotype of the "Taliban" aka extremist Muslim who rants and raves about hating Israel and Jews.  This is troublesome because it reinforces a stereotype of both Jews and Muslims namely that we are mortal enemies set in an eternal war against one another.  I am Muslim and I do not hate or dislike Jews and I do not hate or dislike Israel.  I view Judaism as a brother religion to Islam we are both children of Abraham.  I am taking a stand against jokes that bash Judaism because they are inexcusable and Judaism is an Abrahamic religion and I am against Islamic jokes as a Muslim your joke is not funny sir so sit down and shut the HELL UP!

Dominator at 45

Apparently the Hasek or as I used to call him when he was the pride of Buffalo the Dominator is still dominate at age 45 between the pipes. Hasek led his hometown club HC Eaton Pardubice to the Czech league title yesterday night.  I want to hate Dominic Hasek for leaving the Sabres after the '99 Cup Finals debacle and I want to hate him for winning the Cup with the Detroit Red Wings but I just cannot do it.  Dominator I will always love you and I forgive you for stabbing Buffalo in the back.  The Sabres still suck and are on the verge of crashing out of the playoffs and the Dominator is still kicking butt and taking names.

I love how the Christian Right is circling the wagons on this idiot I could not stand his father and I cannot stand Graham II.  I agree with the Christian's argument that this is a Christian celebration that is fine but the idea that this idiot who is an Islamophobe and a moron should be invited to an event hosted by the U.S. military is beyond offensive.  This is no different that having an anti-Semite speak it does not matter what the event is for the U.S. Military should not be associating with fools like Mr. Graham.  As an American I believe that Mr. Graham is entitled to this opinion and I disagree with people who have demanded or tried to force him to apologize he is allowed to hate Islam or mashed potatoes if he wants to have those beliefs.  The problem is that these sort of people should not be given any appearance or shred of authenticity by institutions like the U.S. Military.  Also the idea that having this fool speak will makes Islamic extremists hate us even more that is equally naive and misguided!  Newsflash!  Islamic terrorists hate all Americans and they are blinded by hate one more Christian windbag is not going to set them off into a jihad rage.

I scooped this article by two full days however I think this is an awesome article on the issue by another prominent conservative voice.  Also this is further proof that Sarah Palin is either stupid (unlikely) or simply chooses to remain uninformed about facts.  Mr. Graham is a hateful man and his views are not restricted to violent extremists within Islam Mr. Graham has mischaracterized all adherent of Islam as being evil Mrs. Palin not just the extremists.

Sex abuse scandal in the church compared to Holocaust

Oops!  Yes believe it our not the Pope's priest for lack of a better term compared the attacks on the Catholic Church for alleged failure to remedy sexual abuse by priests to the violence against Jews in the Holocaust.  You could not possibly pick a more inappropriate analogy or time than the Jewish Passover to make such a completely stupid and insensitive statement.  I will not dwell on the specifics here the genocide committed against Jews has nothing to do with whether or not the Vatican failed to address sexual abuse by Catholic priests! 

Obama Bait and Switch Drilling for CAP AND TAX

I honestly am still amazed every single time the right falls for the old liberal two-step, but that is exactly what has happened to Ilya Shapiro over at the CATO institute.  Shapiro article states that we need to give Obama his due on his energy policy as it pertains to the issue of off-shore drilling.  The problem Shapiro is you completely missed the point in your article OBAMA has not changed course he has changed tact and now is fooling those dumb enough to think he has changed course.   The liberal two-step goes something like this dangle a conservative idea or two in front of a liberal/moderate Republican and presto you have bi-partisanship.  The RINOS (republicans in name only) like Olympia Snowe and John McCain love it when they can use the one conservative idea in a worthless piece of liberal legislation to claim they were working together for a better America.  I am afraid Obama's recent decision to allow increased drilling is just such a proposition in other words a trojan horse to trick liberal Republicans into jumping into the seas of Big Government and voting yes on Cap and Trade.  At first glance I was shocked Obama is calling for increased drilling this makes about as much sense and a gunshot wound to the head to relieve a migraine.  I thought he will lose the ultra-liberal greens and his left base will be inflamed with rage.  Then it occured to me the left is more idealistic and deceptive than the right the left knows that it can use the deception of conservative ideas to win Republican votes and then turn hard left and gut all relevant conservative language from the Cap and Trade bill.  Obama's objective is two-fold to get RINOs to vote for Cap and Tax so it does not become another partisan debacle like Health Care and to convince the public he is centrist to avoid losing the Presidency in 2012.  If you believe that Obama will allow drilling for one-minute after January 11, 2012 you are high on hope and change.  The fix is in all of this so called new drilling will only occur after years of study by the U.S. government to evaluate and determine viability and economic/evironmental impact once Obama is out of the woods electorally the government reports will state drilling is unviable and the whole promise collapses.  Obama cannot and will not alienate his left wing supporters the lunatic fringe left is important to the Democrats just like the lunatic fringe right is important to the Republicans.  Obama will pull a Stupak at the 23rd hour on this drilling business.  If you are unaware of what pulling a Stupak means it means lying and making impossible promises and then hoping everyone in the room aka the American public is too damn stupid to figure it out.  For example an executive order forbidding federal funds from being used to fund abortions does not override the provision in the health care reform bill allocating federal funds for abortion.  Translation Obama cannot by executive fiat change legislation and now abortions are paid for by tax dollars.  Abortion here is not relevant it is merely a way of demonstrating that what Obama says is not what he actually does at the end of the day.  He speaks the truth to his cronies but not to the American public.
